Vertine is one of those villages that hides away in the Chianti countryside, easily missed unless someone recommends a visit. And whilst La Vineria is the only bar in the village, it doesn&#39;t take advantage of that fact. The locals seem to love it (the day we visited was a bank holiday, and the bar was lively with locals having a splendid time). A pleasant place to while away the hours, or have a quick cooling drink - take your pick.

This restaurant was fantastic. The wine menu was a bit hard to read, but the sommelier gave great recommendations. The chef enjoys creating art and humor with his food and makes the experience just that much more memorable. The beef tartare and pigeon were the highlights of the meal, with an excellent assortment of amuse-bouche to start and similar selection of desserts.

We found this small restaurant when we stopped for a beer and to get out of the rain a couple days earlier.  The owner was very gracious and invited us back for dinner.   We are happy we accepted.  There are only 8 or 9 tables, a nice change from some of the other restaurants we have been to.  The owner was again very gracious, highlighting certain menu items and explaining their specials for the evening.  Every course served was well prepared, presented and tasty.

We loves our meal here and had not expectations.  The food was great, the setting romantic in a small courtyard with flowers and overhead trellis. .The service was average.. The setting is a Wellness center and food was healthy and delicious.
